PREMIER SANTA GERTRUDIS

IS BUSY. . . .

The members, junior members, and officers of Premier have really been busy during the first half of the 2006 year.

Premier hosted the Open Show in Fort Worth in January.  Pat Stults headed up a committee of hard-working folks who did a super job!  Thanks to you all.

There have been several sales this spring, beginning with the sale in Fort Worth as part of the National Show festivities.  In April, the Annual Red River Sale was held at the Double TT Ranch in Rosser.

In May, there was the Polled Gold Sale at Liberty Ranch in Kiowa, Ok.  Rock Creek Ranch, Ron and Sandy Glover, had a dispersal sale along with the Santa Marketing Coalition 1 sale at the Pitchford facility in Athens.

The annual Five Oaks Ranch sale and junior show was held on June 2 & 3, at the Clifton Livestock Auction.

And then, most important to our association, we will have the . . . . .

54th ANNUAL SUMMER SALE

AT THE WEST SALE BARN

JULY 8th

We are still accepting nominations for our 54th Summer Sale.  This is a major fund-raiser for our association and a great show-case for our cattle.  We have a great time with fellow breeders and we invite you all to join us.

We will have a fish fry again this year on Friday night before the sale.  It will be held there on the grounds at the West Sale Barn.  Rudy Zacharias heads up the Fish Fry committee and they do a "bang-up" job.

Mark your calendars for July 7th & 8th!

PREMIER HAS ELECTED NEW OFFICERS FOR 2006

Premier held its annual meeting in Fort Worth in January, during the National Show and weekend.  It was a brief meeting with reports on our activities of 2005 and things being considered by SGBI.  Due to the pending show, a Board of Directors meeting was postponed, following the announcement of the results of the election of new Board members.

New board members elected were Patrick Lyness, Sandy Miller, and Brad Bland.

At a later Board meeting, held at Harvey Lemmond's home in Rockwall, Pete Lucas was elected president.  Chris Taliaferro was elected 1st vice president;  Patrick Lyness was elected 2nd vice president.  Sandy Miller was elected secretary and Jane Fulton was elected treasurer.  Darrell Pitchford was asked to be Sale Chairman for the 2006 Summer Sale at West, Tx, July 8th.

CZECH INN OF WEST, Ltd.

West, Texas, now has a motel.  After years of staying in Hillsboro or Waco during weekend of our Summer Sale, the Czech Inn of West is open and waiting for your call.  It is on the same side of I-35 as the Sale Barn.  It is the same exit as the VFW if you attended last year.  Ask the motel.

We have a block of rooms waiting for calls from Premier folks.  Call (254) 826-0900 and ask for a room and mention Premier Santa Gertrudis.

This will make it easier to feed and check your cattle and participate in the fellowship with others.  Come join us!
